Mr and Ms Muscle Beach 2010 Title at Foothill Gym July 6th, 2010 2:38:00 pm
The Annual show at Venice Beach California took place on July 4th. Always a big attraction, the 2010 Mr and Ms Muscle Beach contest drew the highest number of competitors ever in its long history.
Brian and Jennifer Whelan, owners of Foothill Gym, now have the added title of Mr and Ms Muscle Beach 2010 by taking home 1st Place in the couples class.
Jennifer continued her sweep in her first year competing by also winning her class in the Masters (35+) Figure and the Masters Figure Overall Title. PLUS Jennifer took home the big title by winning her class in the Open Figure and the Overall Ms Muscle Beach Figure 2010! WOW!!
Brian also took 2nd in a close decision for 1st in the Masters (40+) Bodybuilding and 4th in the Open Heavyweight class.
Angela Lopez won 3rd in the Masters Figure (35+) short class and Linda Baird came in very strong finishing with 2nd in the Masters (40+) Figure and 3rd in the Novice Figure.
Two shows in 8 days and Foothill Gym took home 20 trophies, 1 plaque and 4 medals. Including 4 Overall wins.
The couples routine by Brian and Jennifer Whelan was simply amazing!

West Coast Classic Results! June 28th, 2010 2:31:00 pm
Congratulations to Team Foothill Gym for an outstanding performance at The West Coast Classic in El Monte on June 26th!
Jennifer Whelan winning the Masters (35+) Tall class in Figure and Winning the Overall Title. Jennifer also took second in the Open Figure! And this was her first time on stage!
Brian Whelan took 3rd in the Masters (40+) Bodybuilding and 4th in the Open Heavyweight. This is Brians first show since being in a wheelchair 9 years ago.
Brian was also awarded The Hans Hopstaken Award for Most Inspirational Bodybuilder by Blair Gannam of IronCompany in a very moving part of the evening.
Angela Lopez took a strong 3rd in the Masters (35+) short class Figure.
Linda Baird came in 5th in the Masters (50+) Figure.
Daniel Winners took 4th in the Teen Bodybuilding and Lil Angela took 7th in the Bikini class, her first time on stage too!

African Dance! HOT n LOUD! Fast paced and...loads of fun. (a 1/2 hour beginner instruction class is held FREE every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30pm.
Sign ins for the spinning BOKWA begin in person 1/2 hour before the class. Due to the popularity of this class we cannot take call in reservations.
